Purpose-built dormitories for migrant workers were amongst the first to receive aid from the government, with COVID-testing and care packs that included hand sanitizer and masks.

However, essentials such as food were not as easily accessible for migrant workers in the smaller factory-converted dormitories. This was the next phase in tackling coronavirus in June 2020.

Therefore, through Into The Grey, we collaborated with It’s Raining Raincoats to organize a giveaway, an initiative for the benefit of migrant workers. Our goal was to give food and drinks to 50 migrant workers living in a factory-converted dormitory.

Amazing Response

And thanks to the amazing generosity of our people, we managed to raise $1,210 against our initial goal of $500 in less than 24 hours!

This allowed us to adopt another dormitory of 50 workers.

On the 26th of June, we delivered food & snacks to two separate dormitories at Kaki Bukit & Pioneer.
